3/1, 2013 kl. 22:30In the movie 'No Sthlm Syndrome' (No Stockholm Syndrome), we see Anna León portraying the lead character 'Johanna'. Anna delivers a gripping interpretation of a hostage who finds herself under enormous pressure. 'No Sthlm Syndrome' has been screened at the The Nordic Globetrotters Film Festival (NGFF) 2013, which select the actors to be honored each year with a choice and screenings of their movies. Anna León is one of the NGFF selected actors of 2013.
Together with her daughter, 'Johanna' accidentally finds herself at the wrong place at the wrong time. Caught up in the middle of a robbery she is held hostage, her daughter wounded by a gunshot and taken away from her. And sympathy is the least the robbers get from this mother, whose maternal instincts are raging. Things then go from bad to worse when the robbers are unable to agree on what to do with their hostage…
Anna delivers a gripping interpretation of a hostage who finds herself under enormous pressure. Needless to say it is a highly a demanding part, but she delivers with full satisfaction. Through her strong and charismatic performance the audience is quickly sucked into the story and it is rather difficult to take your eyes away from the screen. Anna León has an incredible intensity, and is rightly to have been considered one of Sweden’s finest rising star actresses. Johanna’s choice to be a survivor as opposed to a victim is not only a beautifully written story point but also powerfully portrayed. Over all, the gritty atmosphere and photography also add much to the darkness that is needed for this type of story. The film is about survival and it lives up to its name 'No Sthlm Syndrome'. It is a film that leaves you inspired.
